ABOUT A MODERN MYTH

A Modern Myth was born the 4th September 2006. The plan for the site was to have a site where the nordic people could come and get update about the progress of the band in their own countires. The Nordic Echelon were given their own spot in the forum.

As the time went on A Modern Myth slowely left the roots of the Nordic part and grew into a bigger fansite for everyone to enjoy.

Agust 11th 2007 AMM reached over 30.000 visits and the gallery over 140.000 visits.

With a growing multimedia files and content A Modern Myth is here to improve and to grow and be the best as it can be.

WHY THE NAME?

A Modern Myth is a song from 30 Seconds To Mars second album 'A Beautiful Lie' but alot of thoughts have been put down while deciding the name. The name has very little to do with the song itself.

A Modern Myth (the site name not the song) is based on the old days of the Nordic when people believed in the Norse Mythology. I've always been intrested in the mythology and it's something all the five country of the nordic have in common. The written sources for Norse mythology were assembled from Iceland where Björk is from, 30 Seconds To Mars made a cover of her song 'Hunter' which is a bonus track on 'A Beautiful Lie'. Same album as 'A Modern Myth'.

The second thing is their logo, The Arrow, which is the Norse rune for Tyr/Tiwaz, the Norse sky-god. The rune was also compared with Mars.

Most of the Norse mythology was passed down orally. That's a big part of the Echelon,  to spread the word of the band and build a fanbase. The people was very important for the Norse Mythology as the fans are for 30 Seconds To Mars.
